Light Blue Star Fundraising Concert
Every special child is an angel with broken wings. Every special child has a special talent, but it needs someone to discover, cultivate, and care for it so that the talent will shine. April 2nd,
2023 is the 16th World Autism Awareness Day. The World Health Organization (WHO) 2022 report shows that the global average prevalence rate is 0.62%. In Canada, one in every 36 children aged 5-17 has autism. We hope to use our love and music as a medium to call people's attention to the autistic group and bring more love, inclusiveness, and support to this special group.

2021 Christmas Party
On the day of the party, children can make their own gingerbread house on-site or work with their parents. We hope that the children will create their own gingerbread houses by themselves! We have also prepared different games for children so that children can play together and enrich their social life. You can also look forward to whether Santa Claus will appear. Parents can rest assured that the children leave it to us, and you can chat together and enjoy the food. We hope this Christmas party can bring you and the children a wonderful memory!

Come Enjoy Boating - August 25, 2018
On a hot summer day, parents and their kids come to enjoy a fresh boating day along with picnics, visiting parks, and dabbling in cool water! It was a precious chance to strengthen the bond between parents and kids as well as enjoy summer!

Christmas Party - December 21, 2019
Time for Santa! Sending gifts to children while enjoying a delicious potluck. Staff and parents brought their cultural dishes and shared them. Kids formed a close community of their own and enjoyed this holiday with their parents, friends, and teachers. Memories are made with unforgettable moments!

Autism Information Fair - April 2, 2017
With World Autism Awareness Day approaching, we hosted an information fair to share resources and platforms with parents and caregivers. Instructors were giving out useful information for families to create a better future for their children. This was a time when concerns were solved and pressure was alleviated.

Light Up Your Blue Talents - 2nd Light Blue Stars Talent Show Celebrates World Autism Awareness Day
April 2 is the World Autism Awareness Day and April is the Autism Awareness Month. World Autism Awareness Day shines a bright light on autism as a growing global health concern. Its activities help to increase and develop world knowledge of autism and impart information regarding the importance of early diagnosis and early intervention.
Last year’s Light Blue Stars Talent Show received much support from all levels of government and politicians as well as a wide range of media coverage. More important, it entertained over 300 spectators who enjoyed numerous performances by a variety of artists who presented their wonderful talents. We believe that this year’s show will meet with even greater success and joy for both the spectators and our performers!
Gifted People Services is hosting this event in partnership with Community Living Toronto, Reach for the Rainbow, Bloomy Music Therapy, and the Chinese Culture Training Centre. The 2nd Light Blue Stars Talent Show will take place on Saturday, April 4th, 2015 at the Fairview Library Theatre (35 Fairview Mall Drive, Toronto) from 7 pm to 9 pm.

Ontario Science Centre- July 10, 2015
During the month of July, families, staff, and volunteers took a trip to the Ontario Science Centre. We had a chance to explore and learn about many topics such as birds and their wingspans. And what's better than sliding down a slide? Sliding down a slide made out of a tree!

Halloween- October 31, 2014
Along with our children and volunteers, we went to Trick or Treating in Bridlewood Mall on Warden and Finch. They had a lot of fun dressing up and visiting various stores to get a treat...or a trick!

In honor of the 2nd anniversary of Gifted People Services, we are hosting a gala. Come out for a great event with over 150 people attending. There will be a gourmet dinner, fun games, and live music by Liz Craig, a Toronto-based pianist. Together, we can build a strong and healthy community for families with special needs.

During the show, children with developmental disabilities will perform together with other artists in front of the 400 spectators gathered at the CNTV Studio. Its activities help to increase and develop world knowledge of autism and impart information regarding the importance of early diagnosis and early intervention.

Ice Fishing Day - March 26, 2014
In partnership with the Chinese Anglers Sports Club of Canada, we took our families up to Lake Simcoe and went ice fishing! It was the first time kids saw the whole lake turned into an ice lake and we even drove on the surface of it! People from the Chinese Anglers Sports Club of Canada taught our parents and kids how to ice fish, including drilling holes, and tying bait. Although it was cold and lost fishing rods, it turned out to be a fun day for our parents and children.

Multicultural Day - November 14, 2013
Multicultural Day was a day filled with awesome performances by our children. The event was held at Splendid Mall in Toronto. Our gifted children performed on the piano and danced. It was excellent to see them have so much confidence and fun!

Strawberry Picking and Picnic - July 27, 2013
We took the families out for a day of strawberry picking at Whitmore Farm on Steeles. Both parents and children had a good time picking delicious strawberries to take back home. It was a beautiful day to be outside and just enjoy each other’s company. After the picking, we went and had a wonderful picnic at Milliken Park in Scarborough. Kids were playing in the water park and on the slides and the swings.

World Water Day Family Event-Save Water, Empower Special Needs - March 22, 2013
This year we would like to join Canada for the World Water Day celebration scheduled on March 22nd. We want to promote clean water, sustainable aquatic habitats and use the World Water Day as a perfect time to focus public attention on the critical water issues of our era. We will have a brief presentation on clean water and energy. Plus, we have planned fun activities for kids and information sessions for parents. We will also take this opportunity to announce our Fundraising Event: Rain Barrel sale event. Other community leaders and representatives of the media have also been invited to attend. Mid-Fall Festival, September 30, 2012
The mid-fall festival is a Chinese traditional festival. We hosted this event for parents and kids to gather together and share moon cakes. During the event, there is a workshop for parents: “How to cope with sleeping issues?” Kids have fun activities to be involved with, such as arts and crafts, balloons, and trampolines. Around 50 people attended and Everyone enjoyed the event. We even had our very first fundraising initiative at the party.

2020 Scarf Sale: Buy one scarf, Give your warmth
This year, we are experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic. Our special needs kids are also suffering. We are selling hand-made scarf to give back some warmth to them.

Autism Information Fair - April 20, 2019
In order to help more families, we kept hosting annual information fairs. Parents and caregivers had brought up their concerns and gained useful information from this event. With more workshops and community support coming, parents have found the help and care their children needed.

ASD Parental Workshop - July 23, 2019
Under the supervision of our clinical supervisor, parents got to share and talk about their concerns and questions and receive useful advice from our advisor about ASD. From doing this, we were able to build a brighter future for our kids!

G.P.S. 5th Anniversary Gala
With grateful and joyful hearts, we celebrate our significant milestone of 5 years of serving and empowering families affected by developmental disabilities. Please join us for delicious food and performances and meeting with our GPS community, including, politicians, community partners, professionals for special needs, businesses, and families. There will be various lucky draws and live performances by kids with developmental disabilities. All proceeds will be going to Gifted People Services to allow us to support more families in the GTA.

Sunshine Station - 2016
A place for parents to relax, share experiences and information, and find comfort from one another. Through effective communication, parents got to understand more about their kids and lessen their worries. We wished to bring sunshine for all of you!

Civic Holiday Barbecue- August 3, 2015
What is there to do on a civic holiday? Have a barbecue, of course! This past Monday, we gathered staff, volunteers, and families of GPS together to have a barbecue and picnic. Apart from eating all the delicious food that was there, we played games and took part in other fun activities.

Strawberry Picking- July 10, 2015
This past month, we went strawberry picking at Whittamore's Farm. As you can see, our staff, volunteers, and children were able to pick quite a lot of strawberries! Strawberry jam anyone?

Thanksgiving - October 13, 2014
This year we had our first-ever Thanksgiving potluck dinner. Staff and volunteers cooked a dish from their respective cultures and celebrated together!

Jin Fan Festival - July 25th, 2014
It was a fun day at the Jin Fan Festival. Children from Beijing China performed in the show as well as our child, Adam Huang. The children were able to dress up and had the opportunity to go up on stage. The parents also enjoyed themselves and watched their children perform.

Rain Barrel Fundraiser - March 30, 2014
In support of World Water Day, Gifted People Services partnered with Rain Barrel Fundraising to raise money for our programs. It was a very successful day and many volunteers came to help us out. We successfully sold 64 rain barrels and all the proceeds went straight into funding our special after-school program.

Christmas Party - December 22, 2013
Gifted People Services received a generous toy donation from the City of Toronto’s Firefighter Toy Drive. We were able to share the joy and see smiles on our children’s faces. Santa came to our party again. Our kids had a passport that they need to get stamped by completing various activities in different rooms to get their prizes and gifts. We also had a mini talent show that included dancing, singing, and playing piano, and the flute! After food, the kids enjoyed a game called, “Carrying your animal across a river”. 156 people attended this event.

Halloween - October 31, 2013
This year we hosted an afternoon filled with treats, costumes, and of course, a lot of fun! We turned the office into a party room. All the kids had fun dressing up and seeing each other look different for a whole afternoon!

Summer Trip 2013
We took parents and their children on a fun boat ride over the summer in Port Perry! The views were beautiful, and many children had their first-ever boat trip! Parents brought along some fishing rods and they even got to go fishing as well.

Christmas Party - December 22, 2012
Our very first Christmas celebration. We had an awesome time together, and all the kids were invited! We received toys from the City of Toronto’s Firefighter Toy Drive. There were different activities such as gingerbread cookie decoration, pictures with Santa, holiday songs, snowmen, and more. We even had Helen from the Books To Know organization led a reading session with children and donated books to our kids. 80 people attended this event.
